ive got this for a while now , it happens rarely
the game freezes, 5-10 sec's
i get back in the race at the position were i hung on track
sometimes graphics still look ok , sometimes not.

ive got an nvidia 260GTX 896RAM
its since the 186.xx drivers of nvidia
i use nhancer 2.5.1 (no update since 185)
& !!Motec_add**
gonna try running 185.85 again because i gues i never had this error with the old driver (not sure)

motec add i suspect too because,more then once when i came back after a freeze , only the motec add GFX were fucked

got XPprof.
e6600 intel dualcore
4gig ram
use FSautostart to load motecadd,logit.wingman,gamebooster,teamspeak,fraps
and latest norton 360 in the background

anyone with a nvidia 2xx having errors to since 190.36?
its a 10sec freeze/return with GFX in wrong places

Same problem here!! I had 2 big black screens which took 1:30min. each. I have nearly the same configuration like you and I think it´s the nvidia driver.

u use motec add?
if not one more ruled out !
( testing now with 185.85 nvidia driver and nhancer 2.5.1)

It seems to be a problem with a specific driver version of the nvidia display driver.

I had the same problem using Vista.
Since I switched back to XP the problem seems to be gone.

I'm not using Motec.

@psytech: dont'n know anything about your problem cause i'm using an ATI and it works fine. But can you check your teamspeak settings? Your voice could be a little bit louder... I don't understand you during the sound of my racecar hammering in my head :whistle:

I use motec add dual vision. but i have problems since the new nvidia driver came out

my problems are gone i suspect
what i did not mention: after i closed race-evo
computer hang's on desktop for some seconds
after i installed the 185.85 driver and nhancer 2.5.1 again,this was gone
ive beign racing for over 2 hours and had no problem at all no more.
maybe the problem come's back ,when i switched from 186 to 190
the problem returned after some reboots
so i gues it must be nvidia-nhancer related
or is anyone running 186.xx 190.XX driver and no n-hancer installed got this problem??

last 2 race's i got fucked from above =)
a week a go after 10 laps i exeeded my monthley download limit during the event (i was 3th igues)
lagging like hell , so i quit
last event i was in the freakin lead (virtual-pitstop) and i get error. i never won an event yet!
ill put the volume up high , when i win(someday)
i will do a mark webber scream 4 you

That new Nividia Driver 190.38 rised up the GPU and Spawa-Temps about 5-10°c, that might be a prob with PCs that havent a very good coolsystem.

there a some possibilitys:

1) setting the fan speed over 70% - always, manually with Riva or EGVA Tool

2) change to another driver - i use 186.24

maybe that Temp-Prob is fixed with the 190.56 Beta (didnt tested by my self)

3) Change to ATI ; its well known that Nividia Cards from 88xx up to newest, have probs expecially with Race or Evo. There are many threads about it.

I run on a XFX BE 260 with a Voltmod (downgrading), to cool down the Spawa Temps. That gave me about 5-10°C lower temps. Its also possible to open the card and use some thermally conductive paste like Artic Silver 5 or else between the org pads and Spawas or GPU, with that u gain 5-10° more.

ive got an antec P180 case with 4 silenx fans &
dust filters and a super airflow, cables nice& clean! i will monitor temp.
but if i got hightempratures in my case , seems strange to me because im below average

btw sorry if i shocked you , better stay inside your home , shut all doors , cut your cable
put in earplugs and your problem is solved
i was telling how pissed i was and i shouted after i had a pc hung in the lead of a weekly event, i cal this human emotions, did u recieve this data? or u got error??

and i do appreciate ur help (but not your urge to change who i am)
seems you feel offended fast to uh?

people who cant say somthin straight how they feel it , got a problem
but if it was not for u i did not know at all bout this nvidia 190.xxx overload problem

Hi all,

for me the problem looks like it is solved. I changed form the motec add tool to real time telemetry and the game runs faster again. For me it looks like the motec add tool has a too high scan rate thats why my game crashed. I´m using now 500ms.
Maybe try to disable it under Options in the motec add tool. U still can´t change the rate of the scan but it´s written in the readme (i think) it will improve game performance.

For me the temps didn´t rise with the new driver.
I´m allways at: GPU 59°-60°C Fan: 80%
CPU 45°C Water cooled
Motherboard: 45°C

i got the problem again now.
with 185 driver and nhancer 251
but i dont use motecadd dualscreen
so i can not set the scan options
i cant try running without motec add now
or nhancer.
not fun ! :(

ps when i press alt tab
and return to the game

Wow Psytech, i think you take the wrong drugs :)

But back to topic. Reminds me of a preoblem i had with GPL (or any other game) running on my Voodoo2 SLI (those where the days). The memory of the Voodoos kept overheating resulting in psychedelic color scemes. Back then a fan and two cable ties did the trick. Voodoo2´s where cooled passivly without even heatsinks.
And, as far as i know, switching to desktop and back causes the memory of the graphic card to be refreshed (thats whats causing the the long lag till you see anything again when switching back to the game if i remember correct).

So, my proposal is, try lowering the clock of the graphic card ram.

I know its a long shot over uncounted generations of graphic cards, but might be worth a try.
